SECTION 2.1 VISION Brazos Homeschoolers plans to engage in three types of activities to further its goal as a resource for the homeschooling community in the Brazos area. First, it will sponsor, plan and support academic events throughout the year. Second, it will assist new, or new-to-the-area, homeschoolers. Finally, it will provide forums and events that benefit the entire homeschool community. All this is accomplished at no cost to our members. BAHA earns money to support these services by offering advertising to the community, and sponsorship of specific events. SECTION 2.2 MISSION Brazos Homeschoolers, hereinafter referred to as “BHS”, is organized exclusively for charitable and educational organization purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. BHS will function as a publicly-supported service organization that provides all Brazos area homeschoolers with: a) homeschool information and support through a central web site and other public forums; This is accomplished through this website, the resource directory, brochures, and the newsletter. b) assistance in starting and continuing home study through lectures, mentoring programs, publications, special programs; and This would be the newsletter, brochures, educator ID cards, curriculum library, back to school workshops, and coffee socials. c) a sponsoring organization to facilitate homeschool activities and support groups. Our current list of activites include the Geo Bee, Science Fair, Science Club, Shakespeare/Public Speaking Program, Science Olympiad, Odyssey of the Mind, National History Day, and ITBS Testing.
